When it comes to the premium engine of the Peugeot 308 GTi, the utmost care has been taken during the engineering process to ensure optimal performance. The premium engineering of the engine includes strengthened segmentation and connecting rods, polymer-enhanced bearings and reinforced bolts and aluminium pistons which are kept cooled from below by a double oil spray system.
Power & Performance
The Peugeot 308 GTi includes a four cylinder 1.6L THP Stop & Start petrol engine which delivers an impressive 200 kW of power and 330 Nm of torque for a turbo charged, sporty performance. Even at high speeds, the speed and torque are perfectly regulated thanks to the design of the waste control valve. The steel construction of the exhaust manifold means it’s more than able to stand up to the power offered by the engine. As a testament to the performance of the engine, the GTi 270 version is able to produce 125 kW per litre which is the highest specific output of any vehicle in the segment.
