After its initial local launch in 2014, the second generation Peugeot 308 has been updated every model year with an upgraded specification and styling updates to keep it bang on trend. The Touring Allure is second only to the Peugeot 308 GTI, Perth drivers will find that this model is fully loaded with tech. So, here is all you need to know about this great new model.

The Kit

The Touring Allure has an impressive spec list showcasing the Peugeot reputation as a premium brand here in Australia. There is a 9.7 inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and sat nav, parking sensors and rearview camera, Bluetooth audio and phone streaming, USB, and driver attention alerts as standard across the range. The Touring Allure also has active blind spot monitor, LED headlights, speed limit recognition, electric parking brake, lane keep assist, electric folding mirrors, city park assist, silver roof rails and Alcantar trim. As a new 2018 feature, the model is also equipped with a new bundle that includes adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency brakes.

The Powertrain

The model is equipped with a turbo diesel 2.0 litre engine that provides 110 kW of power and 370 Nm torque. The power is sent via a six speed automatic transmission to the front wheels. This means that this family sized vehicle can manage a respectable zero to 100 kilometre per hour rate of 10 seconds and a top speed of 209 km/h. While this powertrain packs a punch, it is not particularly thirsty. The claimed combined cycle rate is just 4.4 litres per 100 kilometres, increasing to 5.2 litres in city driving.

Inside the Cabin

The 308 cabin showcases a minimalist style to perfection with premium finishes and stylish touches. The surrounds and dash have an uncluttered look with a simple layout and intuitive functions. The small Peugeot steering wheel looks perfectly at home with a nice feel that features tilt and reach adjustment.

There is also ample space in the second row with a fold down armrest and cupholders to keep thing neat and comfortable. However, what is the real showstopper, is the cavernous cargo space. There is a massive 625 litres of boot space with the rear seats in place, that can be expanded to an unrivalled 1740 litres. There are also generous pockets and bins for additional storage.
