With its safety equipment, the 208 GTi facilitates more agile and precise driving.
The 208 GTi has a specially-tuned suspension system, featuring firmed-up shock absorbers, an enhanced braking system, tracks enlarged by 10 mm to the front and 20 mm to the rear and a tailored ESP system. The vehicle’s road holding is thus stronger, its power better controlled and distributed over the ground, for increased safety and improved driving pleasure.
The high-level performance available from the PEUGEOT 208 GTi calls for a specially tailored braking system. Efficient, easy to measure and with specially enhanced heat resistance and ventilated discs (302 mm in diameter at the front, 249 mm at the rear) gripped by a Red floating caliper, the brakes on the PEUGEOT 208 GTi offer safety at all times.
ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM
One of the most advanced safety features available, ESP gives you added peace of mind:
- ASR (Anti-Skid Regulation)
- EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), which applies maximum brake pressure when you depress the brake pedal
- ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which prevents the wheels from locking up in the event of emergency braking, keeping you in control
- BFD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), which distributes brake force between the front and rear wheels.
Drive with confidence, knowing that you and your passengers are protected with six airbags as standard. Driver and front passenger protection includes two front and two side airbags, while two front and rear curtain airbags protect those in the front and rear seats.
TOUCH SCREEN WITH SATELLITE NAVIGATION
The 208 GTi is bursting with technology. Its multi-function colour touch screen acts as mission control, providing access and finger-tip control of all the car’s audio, communications and navigation equipment.
USB and Bluetooth™ functionality is supported for most other smartphones, accessed from the 7″ touch screen.
CAR-TO-GROUND CONNECTING COMPONENTS
The moment you move off, the excitement is palpable. With its finely tuned running gear, its stiffened suspension and its tracks widened by 10 mm at the front and 20 mm at the rear, the PEUGEOT 208 GTi follows the contours of the road with precision and agility to deliver an emotionally satisfying driving experience.
In combination with the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit and its compact steering wheel, and with improved car-to-ground connecting components and optimised weight to ensure enhanced responses, the wheelbase of the new PEUGEOT 208 GTi offers the ideal synthesis of comfort and sporty road holding, providing genuine driving enjoyment.
STOP & START TECHNOLOGY
Why waste fuel if you’re waiting at a red light or in traffic?
PEUGEOT’s Stop & Start system senses when you come to a halt and stops the engine – then starts it again as soon as you want to move off.
It means you use less fuel and produce up to 15% less CO₂ while driving in the city.
When the brake pedal is released, the engine is instantly restarted, with no noise or vibrations.
153kW TURBO ENGINE
The figures match up: the 208 GTi goes from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.5 seconds and can cover 1,000 metres in just 26.5 seconds. Pick-up is equally impressive: it goes from 80 – 120km/h in six seconds in fifth gear.
153kW TURBO ENGINE
With a turbocharged 1.6 THP petrol engine delivering 208 hp, the New Peugeot 208 GTi was designed for outstanding performance.
POWER / WEIGHT RATIO
The kerb weight of the 208 GTi is just 1,160 kg, giving it an excellent weight/power ratio of 132W/kg. It also achieves CO2 emissions of just 125 g/km and has a combined drive cycle of 5.4 l/100km.
The 208 GTi has a very special suspension system. The shock absorbers have been reinforced, its braking system strengthened, and its ESP system adapted, which means you have better driving position and more traction. This gives you a more controlled driving experience and better balanced suspension for even greater driving pleasure.
What makes the 208 GTi so great to drive? It could be the specially tuned suspension with firmed-up shock absorbers. Perhaps it’s the tailored electronic stability program and improved road holding. Or could it be the superb driving position with its compact steering wheel? You don’t need to decide – just enjoy the drive.
PEUGEOT AND THE ENVIRONMENT
Every PEUGEOT benefits from the company’s expertise in reducing fuel consumption and harmful emissions.
Weight, aerodynamics, tyres, technological excellence – no effort has been spared to reduce the car’s environmental impact and break fresh ground in eco-design. For example, 25% of the polymers used in the 208 GTi are derived from recycled materials or materials of natural origin, while the rear bumper is made entirely of natural fibres, non-metallic recycled materials and biomaterials.
